I spent a $1000 on a game!! Husband is Angry!

So it's this game call "Game of Sultans" I like to play. I play it everyday, and spend a lot of time on it.So I spent a 1000 on the game. I didn't tell my husband about it and was planning to pay it off before he noticed. Unfortunately he found out about it. He's furious and demanding that I delete the game in order for him to forgive me. What do you guys think I should do? Is he over reacting? I love playing the game and don't want to delete it

I used my credit card but the account I was using to pay the card off with is a joint account

Side note: we have two kids together and in the process of building a new home.

UPDATE: Thank you to those who actually gave advice. You all helped me to see things in his eyes. I really enjoyed the game because I had other girls to chat with on the game that I created a bond with. The game was my little get away. I did delete the game because I understand my family is more important and I would hate for a game to destroy what we have.
