Moms who had your first child over 30, how long did you take to conceive?

Optional: how old were you when you finally conceived? Disclaimer: I’m 38 and have been TTC for 5 months without success, and I’m trying to gauge how normal (or abnormal) that is.

31. It took three months to conceive the first that resulted in miscarriage. Then 7 months after that we conceived and lost another. Then two months later we conceived and so far so good.

I am currently 39 weeks pregnant. It took me almost three years with my husband to get pregnant. I am now 35 years old. We truly had unexplained infertility. We had every test possible done and everything came up normal for us.

38, turning 39 in 3 weeks. Just had my baby girl Sept 10. I started ttc Nov 2017, and had 1 miscarriage and 1 chemical along the way. Finally got pregnant  dec 2018. Took 1 year and 1 month of ttc.

I was 34 when I first got pregnant, but found out it was a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan, and miscarried naturally about a week after. Waited for 3 months before trying again, and it took 7 months of trying to get pregnant with my son, who is now 2. I was 36 when I had him. 38 now, and ttc number 2. Good luck to you, honey xx

We started ttc at 29. Conceived when I was 31 after 3 rounds of clomid and two IUIs. 
Second baby was conceived while I was EBF our first when I was 7 months PP. was our first month TTC. 
Third baby was conceived while EBF at 9 months PP. took us 5 months to conceive. 
Fourth pregnancy was conceived at 4 months PP; ended as a miscarriage. 
Fifth pregnancy was conceived 5 months after my miscarriage. Twins. Currently 31w5d. (Currently 35 yrs old.).

I was 33 when we started trying and got pregnant first cycle. That ended in a missed miscarriage very early on. Took us 6 cycles to get pregnant again. Now 34 and currently 12 weeks.

I am 35 yo and hubby is 38. I am currently pregnant for the third time...23w4d. (The first two were miscarriages). Each time we got pregnant it took under 6months....which when you’re over 30, feels like an eternity.

We went to check our health after 3 months because I was 34. I’m glad we did because we discovered that we had no other option but to do IVF and both of us required surgeries. It was the second round of IVF that took 2 years later.  Also there were wait time to see specialists, get a funded IVF cycle (Canada), etc.  I would tell anyone in their 30s to get all the tests you can done so if there is an issue you can have that knowledge and aren’t wasting months. Trying without success can be very taxing.
