Curious.  I've been going with 4 ounces just because that seems like slightly more than enough. I combine or distribute across pumping sessions as needed to make all bags the same.

I do 2-3 oz. We used freezer milk mostly for  baby oatmeal with my first. That was around 2oz. Her bottles were usually 4 oz so if we needed milk for that we just defrosted two. I’d rather have smaller quantities so I can defrost just what I need rather than defrost and warm up too much and have to toss it. 
If you have time to fridge defrost I think a bigger bag is fine because you can separate it and warm what you need, leaving the rest in the fridge. But if you are defrosting with warm water then smaller amounts are better.

I pump 4-6 oz out of each breast so I’ll store some to be refrigerated and freeze  the other 4-6oz.

I have been freezing 5 oz because that’s the most my bags hold. But idk I’m new at this!

I freeze in .5 oz increments starting with the smallest bottle I’ll send to daycare.
