Nope. I didn’t expect my husband to pay for our first date. I even had the checks split. Men aren’t required to pay for the whole meal. Pay for your own half.

It’s gonna make people mad but I’m gonna be real. This is why men aren’t gentlemen like they used to be. Because women actually accept this behavior. It is such bad taste that a guy wouldn’t at least pay for the FIRST date. Even if it’s cheap. Or he could take you to the park or somewhere that doesn’t cost a thing and just offer to pick you up or drive. Idk why on earth women are accepting these half ass men who can’t even make an effort on the first date. Splitting checks? What are you, friends? Room mates? That’s not a relationship. Whoever asks the other person out should be the one paying, male or female. A gentleman would never make a girl pay for herself on a first date, that is absurd and people wonder why men make way less of an effort these days than they used to, because y’all accept that behavior!
