Contraction stopped

Hello I'm 37 weeks today and booked in for sweep Monday morning as I have an health issue. From 8 am this morning I thought I was having braxton hicks as I get them daily. They started to become painful with period pains back ache and leg ache lasted 45 seconds each every 5-6 mins. Then they was coming every 12 mins it's my second baby so I know not to worry as the not regular. I'm still having tightening 12 hours later but not as much pain just uncomfortable. Does anyone know the reason why they was strong now minor? My waters went with my son so I knew it was labour when pain started 5 year ago.
