Stripping membrane?

Hello moms, so I came back from the doctors today! My weekly checkup , I am 1cm dilated right now which is great. I’m 38 weeks an 3 day I’m anxious for my Baby girl to come An the doctors told me another thing I can do for her to come alittle early is have them strip my membrane.. What I took from the conversation was they will be separating my uterus from the amniotic fluid an I could possibly start bleeding and having cramps afterwards an she can come within a few days possibly..

has any moms went through this? What was your experience?
