Would you be offended if....

Every time you saw your mother in-law she made a comment about the baby not looking like anyone on their side of the family? Maybe I’m being sensitive but EVERY SINGLE time my husbands mom comes over, she always comments that she doesn’t see any resemblance to anyone on their side of the family. At first it didn’t bother me but now it’s starting to piss me off. Maybe she doesn’t look like anyone on their side but can’t she just look like herself? My husband asked this last time after his mom went on and on about how she doesn’t look anyone she knows... “well doesn’t she look like me?” (Which most people we see comment that she looks more like him then myself. Although I think she looks like a perfect blend of us) and she flat out said “No”. I’m super annoyed. Also, maybe it’s the way (her tone) when she says it. It’s almost like she’s implying that Ava (my daughter) isn’t my husbands baby. When we originally found out we were pregnant (after a year of marriage, not that that matters) her first response was “was it an accident”. No congratulations. That was the first thing out her mouth. I was so hurt and I’ve never looked at her the same. Idk, maybe I’m being sensitive.

UPDATE: thank you all for your comments. Honestly, I was hoping people would say that I was being dramatic so I could put my mind at ease that maybe she genuinely can’t see a resemblance. I want to talk to my husband about it without hurting his feelings. Any suggestions? I just feel like it’s such a touchy topic. I don’t want him to think that I don’t like his mom because I do! It’s just this has been bothering me for so long.
