How much effect does weight have on fertility ?

So I was just wondering if anyone had some information on how much weight can effect your chances of getting pregnant for both men and woman. 
I understand the effect of being overweight while pregnant btw that’s not my question. 
Can’t seem to find a whole lot of info out there and thought you ladies would have some 😘

Soo much! I have pcos so I don’t ovulate or get periods regularly. Before I started losing weight my periods would come every 4-6 months. I started losing weight and my cycles become every 37-40 days with ovulation happening on cycle day 25-28. And now I’m at a healthy weight and my periods are every 30 days with ovulation on cycle day 16. I swear weight loss has helped me soooo much!

It depends on the person really. I’m overweight, considered ‘obese’ and had no problem getting pregnant. (First month trying for the 3rd time) And I’ve had 0 issues in the pregnancy

While I believe some of my issue is my weight and my inability to lose it. (Thanks to having PCOS) I also am very on the fence with the theory. 
I’ve seen women 2-3x times my size have kids, and that’s always a huge slap in the face. So I’m not sure if I think weight is always an issue. 
I have been on Adipex before and lost more than 10% of my weight (per doctor recommendation) and it did nothing for me. 
I started eating cleaner and got my periods back. So I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ everyone is different. And if you’re really struggling and have been for at least a year trying to lose weight and seeing if it works is definitely an option!

It can lower your fertility if you are overweight, but that’s not to say that every overweight person will struggle with fertility

It very much depends on the person, but as an average, being obese or underweight decreases fertility. Not everyone experiences this, though, and I think being active and eating healthy with regular cycles is likely a better indicator than weight or bmi alone.

If you’re overweight I think I’ve heard that losing 10% of your body weight can help!
