When to see the doctor??

I'm new to the area I live in, and I got a few OB/GYN referrals from people at work. I called the one I've heard the best things about this afternoon, and I was told by his receptionist that he doesn't see people until week 10. That isn't for another month and a half! Would you find someone who would see you sooner or is it really OK to go that long before seeing the doctor?

It's normal to not be seen until then. But what you can do is schedule an appointment so you have one. If you wait too long, they will be booked up. You will learn that booking all of your OB appointments way in advance is a life saver haha 😊

My first appt wasn't until 10 weeks, unless issues arise....That's pretty standard practice :)

Most docs won't see you till then, so if that office came highly recommended I would book.

Go ahead and schedule the appt.  With my 1st mine saw me at 8wks bc I was high risk. This time around I didn't get seen till 11wks bc of scheduling.

I actually found out about that when I got pregnant. I was told that they won't see you any sooner unless you've had problems with your pervious pregnancies or you've had miscarriages. I had 2 miscarriages before so the doc saw me at 5wks and at 8wks to do ultrasound for this pregnancy. I'm now 19wks & 4 days 😄
But if you want to be see your little peanut sooner than later you can see if your city/town has a place called the life center.
They offer free ultrasound and other stuff for expecting mommies.

My first appt. I was 8 weeks , it should be fine unless your just impatient I'd say just wait :)
