Does Valtrex cause outbreaks?

I got a call that I was diagnosed with HSV2 via blood test, which was a shock given I’ve never had symptoms (that I’m aware of)

I started taking it and now I have a little cut-like thing near my hoo-hah. It hurts when I touch it but otherwise I don’t notice it.

Could this be a start of an outbreak? I’m a little miffed that I start taking this medicine and then have an outbreak (if this is one)
