Alright, a little background of my ttc journey. I was on the depo for 7 years and didn’t have a period the entire time. I then went off the depo last October (a year ago now) and went on the pill. I was only on the pill for one month before we decided to start trying. We got pregnant fast, I got the positive in January but then we lost the baby at 12 weeks to a miscarriage.

After the miscarriage, we tried again, I had one period after the D&C and got pregnant again. We now just lost our second baby at 16 weeks due to the baby having anencephaly and decided to terminate since she had no survival rate.

What I need help with is, it’s been 18 days since the termination and I read online that you should get a negative pregnancy test 7-14 days after (but it can take longer) so I decided to take one to see if it’s out of my system. At this point I wish I would’ve been taking them every few days after so I could track if it were ever negative at some point because this morning, my test was positive.

I have a doctor appointment on Monday for my follow up but I just wanted to see if any of you could shed some light, maybe you’ve been in a similar situation like this. Do you think its just left over hormones or could it be a new pregnancy? Could I even get pregnant again by now (yes we have had sex)? Also, I’ve been bleeding on and off since the termination so I have no idea if I’ve had my period yet. I was bleeding for a few days then not for like 2 days, then I was, then I wasn’t, it’s a rollercoaster.

I know I should just wait until my dr appt and see but I just want to hear your opinions. Thank you.
