Does anyone's other half not want to know the gender, but you do? Did you find out and not tell them? I feel like it's a bit deceiving if I do find out 😕. What are your thoughts? 🌹

My brother somehow managed to know and keep it a secret for both of his children because my sister-in-law didn't want to know. I still don't know how he did it!

I was in opposite boat. My SO wanted to know the gender and I didn’t. I told him he was welcome to find out if he really thought he could keep it a secret from me. But he knew he would end up slipping up so neither of us found out.

Hmm that’s a tough one. I think if you want to find out then tell him you’re going to, but that you can keep it a surprise for him if he wants. That would be a good compromise for both getting what you want, but not lying. For me, my husband didn’t want to know with our first, and if I found out and he didn’t I wouldn’t have been able to buy outfits and decorate the room because I’d want to keep it a surprise for him, so I agreed to wait until the birth with him. This time, we found out because I did it his way the first time and this time I was finding out so he got on board. 😋

It's only deceiving if you tell him you dont know, when you actually do know the gender. I know many people who 1 person found out and the other didnt want to know, so decided to keep it a surprise for themselves.  But the other partner has to be very careful not to use pronouns or let it slip when referring to the baby... my friend was like "Hes kicking a lot today" to her husband and he figured it out that it was a boy before birth because of her slip up.  So if the partner can be cautious not to slip up, or consciously use BOTH pronouns for the baby interchangeably, then go for it!
