Genetic testing

Did anyone have the genetic testing done through their Dr office to find out the gender?? We got an "uninformative DNA" result and the doctor wants us to see a maternal fetal medicine specialist to do more in-depth testing to make sure there isn't any genetic abnormalities, because the blood work was inconclusive. Anyone have this happen?? Please share you experiences with this if you did. I'm incredibly anxious over this and not knowing if there is anything wrong.
