Ranting

Just need to get this off my chest, hopefully some can understand why I’m upset.

My little sister had her birthday party yesterday. Like at most family functions, Iris is passed around because she isn’t seen very much. After the cake is cut and passed out my mother asks if she can give Iris a taste of the icing. I, of course, say no because 1) she’s not even 5 months yet and 2) icing is pure sugar. She says “well I’m sure *aunts name* has already given her some” I hadn’t thought anyone would go behind my back after being told multiple times not to, but after she said that I went to get Iris and from my aunt and sure enough, there was icing around her mouth and they were all laughing.

I know that lots of people start solids at four months, but I am planning on waiting until 6 months minimum. Plus, I wanted to be the first one to give her food.

I know it’s isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but the principle of her going behind my back hurts.
