I think my birth control stopped working??

I’m really confused and concerned. For the past 4 YEARS I have been using the nuvaring without fail, and I’ve always loved it. Leave it in for the duration of your cycle, take it out, your period comes, after your period put a new one in. Your period does not start until you take it out, I learned that after confusion my first few months using it, getting scared I was pregnant cause I went like 78 days (my normal cycle is 36-39 days) without a period, turns out it was cause I didn’t take the ring out. There’s even been times where if I’m having a really bad week and don’t wanna deal with my period, I’ll put a new one in as soon as my period starts and it only lasts like 2 days. And again, I’ve been using it 4 years without fail.

Last month, I was really surprised because my period came without me taking it out, about 36 days into my cycle. I was confused, cause again last time my period came with the ring still in, it took 78 DAYS. I was frustrated because with this birth control I’ve always been able to predict my periods but I was like whatever. I’m going through an incredibly stressful time in my life right now, so I replaced it with my new one almost as soon as my period started. But my period didn’t end early. Again frustrating, but I didn’t think too much of it. Well I just went to the bathroom, and it looks like my period has started?? I’m only on cycle day 27, even on my normal cycle I shouldn’t have my period for at least 10 more days from now. And my ring is in like it normally is. Does anyone know why all of the sudden it might have stopped working??

Here’s the only things I can think of, but I have no idea if they’d have any effect on my birth control or not;

-I recently started taking Ritalin

-My antidepressant (Wellbutrin) was increased by double the amount

-Like I said before, going through probably the most stressful point in my life up til now. My husband wants a divorce, and it came out of no where and I’ve had a really hard time coping with it.

-Via above, I’m suddenly not sexually active. We were an EXTREMELY sexually active couple, we had sex almost every night. And now I haven’t had sex in, I wanna say about 7 weeks now. (Note, he’s the only sexual partner I’ve ever had an no, there’s been no one else since all this has been going on)

-Again via stress and depression, I haven’t been eating well. I seldom have an appetite, and it’s a struggle just to get one meal a day in.

Like I said, I have no idea if any of those things could contribute to my birth control suddenly not working, and I couldn’t come up with any answers on google. If anyone has any ideas on what’s going on, please let me know, because I’m really confused.
