Tips for moving in as a couple

What are some major tips for moving in together. My s/o and I were thinking of renting an apartment together in the next 6months or so. What are some good ways to split food bills, rent, and any other expenses. Any apps for budgeting? Helpful "rules" or "guidelines" you've created when moving in with someone?
