Labor/Delivery Advice!? ♥️

Hey, ladies! For those of you that had a vaginal, epidural free birth, how was your experience? What things did your SO or support person do to help you through contractions & labor pains? I’m due in 3 weeks! Trying to get as much information as possible to help my fiancé and I through this! We’re excited to welcome our baby girl into the world. But also nervous as well, as it’s a first time experience for the both of us! I need all of information/advice you can give me. Thank you, in advance! ♥️

Definately the bath and shower. Helped HEAPS. 
Relaxing music, and candles if your hospital allows you to have them. 
I didn’t let them turn the lights on, and when it got dark, they had them on the dimmest setting. 
Also I had myself convinved that I had to stay calm because if I didn’t, it would get complicated and I could have to have a ceasar. 
It was honestly the best experience of my life and I would do it all again based on how well I handled it.

I had a natural birth at a birth center. My husband didn’t do much to be honest lol. He helped me move when I wanted to change positions, he made sure I drank water and offered me snacks, he sat next to me and held my hand when I wanted. He filmed lol. It was just me and him at the birth. We didn’t allow family and didn’t have a doula. I just did my own thing and he stepped in to give me whatever I needed.

Delivered in a hospital. My husband didn't do much either,  he held my hand through contractions but other than that there wasn't much he could do. I'm not big on the whole "encouraging words " thing so he just played on his phone and read. If I needed him to do something I would ask and he would,  but when I'm in that amount of pain,  the less I am bothered the happier I am lol.

I spent hours in the bath tub. I didn't really want to talk or be touched, but my husband stayed by my side and poured water over my stomach during contractions, which helped. He also kept some chill music playing the whole time. Other than that I was just in the zone trying to keep my whole body relaxed so that my cervix could open and and I could use all my energy to get the baby out. Staying relaxed was so important for me.

My last delivery was in a hospital and was natural other than being induced with cytotec. I went from 0 to pushing him out in less than three hours. My midwife is also a doula but honestly I hated being touched. I wanted so badly to be in the tub but I hated that as well! I bounced on the ball till I reached a 5 but I just wanted to lay down so I could stretch out and turn side to side with each contraction. My husband was there every step of the way reminding me to breath and that I was strong. He let me squeeze his hand and wiped my tears. My midwife also never left my side. I don’t like to count through the contractions but tapping helped me focus. She watched the screen and prepared me for when one was coming, allowing me to start tapping prior to the pain. She also let my body do the work. I told her I felt the urge to push and when she checked me, my bag of water was protruding. She told me this and coached me how to gently push so I could break it on my own which was successful. Five minutes later he was crowning and after four losses, I wanted to be the first to hold my baby. Both my husband and midwife helped me through each push and directed my hands so that I could catch him. It was horrifically wonderful and I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. Listen to your body and voice your wants. You’ll do great!
