Birth questions

So. My last pregnancy I was induced so I got my epidural pretty quick

But this time, I still want one, but I don’t want it as quick, so I can still stand up and help labor along, and not be just laying there like a potato for hours.

So is there other pain meds that can be given to help take the edge off where you can still function or just have to deal with it until you get an epidural?

I’m pretty sure I’m going to get induced again so I just want to know all the good options.
