How was your planned c-section different to your unplanned c-section?

I’m unsure on having kids after an emergency c-section and wonder if a planned one would make it more appealing for me

Both of mine were planned and were very calm. Showed up at our assigned time, got prepped, walked into the operating room. Baby was there within 5 minutes. Got to cuddle my girls while they closed me up.

Mine was an emergency csection where they knocked me out before cutting. I didnt like that I was by myself (since it was emergency cs, my husband wasnt allowed in) while being prepped. I didnt like waking up disoriented and feeling something was missing. Mentally I wasnt prepared. If i need another csection, I would like it planned and awake if possible with my husband there for comfort.

After surgery/Recovery was the same with all of them. Just up the time leading up to the surgery was different. 
1st I went into labor and ended up with an emergency C-section. So there was labor pains for hours, I never got the epidural. And then I was knocked out for the Csection. Not sure how much time went by before I woke up and saw my baby. But I was able to hold her almost immediately after I came around. 
2nd I had a scheduled date but went into labor 1 week prior. So again there were labor pains but once I got to the hospital I was numbed up and nearly immediately went to surgery so it wasn't too bad. Just the car ride to the hospital(45 min) was no fun. 
3rd I made it to the scheduled date. It was a little more nerve wrecking and also relieving knowing when baby would come. When it's a surprise you don't really have time to think of all the possibilities and freak out but when you know the exact date/time your mind can run away with you a little bit.  It's also nice though because especially if you have other children you can make arrangements and make sure everything is ready and everyone knows what to do and is prepared. It's less stressful that way. But more stressful because it gives you time to ponder all the what-ifs. 
After the procedure they were all exactly the same. No difference in the hospital stay, treatment, recovery time, pain, etc.

Both of mine were planned but ended up having emergency c sections for both before their scheduled dates. What I love about c sections is there are no layout pains, u go into surgery get the spinal and baby is out in 10min. The 2nd one was a bit more painful than the 1st though
