Should my boyfriend help me pay?

So I just received the bill from when our son was born. The total amount from the hospital stay was over $20,000. After insurance this is what’s left to be paid:

Obviously it has been charged to me and if it’s not paid it’s going to be an issue on my credit report and it could get sent to collections... which some of my doctors bills have already been sent to collections because I’ve been out of work since March.

Im starting a new job on October 21st but even then it’ll be tough to have to pay that off on my own.

My question is should my boyfriend help me pay?

It’s not like it was just a random hospitalization and surgery. It was for the birth of our son!

I haven’t asked him yet but I did send a picture of the bill to him to see what he says...
