Birthday gift? *read the description please*

Okay so I’ve started seeing this new guy and we’ve hung out a few times although we are not official. His birthday is the end of this month and I have a perfect idea for a gift for him (an inside joke between the 2 of us) but do you think it’s too soon? We started talking a few weeks ago and he’s stayed the night a few times, I’ve stayed at his house. I wanna show a romantic gesture without going overboard. Do you think I should get him something small or no? Thanks in advance!
