Scarlette

So at 6am on October 13th, I got out of bed like I always do and went to the bathroom. I peed and wiped like normal! No signs of anything! As I’m walking back to bed I felt this warm liquid run down my legs, and not thinking anything of it, I turn around and wipe it off with a towel. I stand strait up and it happened again! So again, I wiped it off and stood back up, only for it to happen a third time! So by now I’m like “that’s not pee!!” I walk over to my husband to tell him my water broke and i literally left a wet trail from

The bathroom and a nice puddle on the floor.. yuck. We get dressed, all while fluid is randomly gushing out of me, and pack our daughter a bag with a change of clothes, snacks, and a toy, and head to the hospital. On the way, I leaked so much that it soaked through the pad and onto my seat. Yuck!!! I get to L&D and get all checked in and the on call dr came to swab the fluid to make sure it’s amniotic fluid, protocol, and she didn’t even swab all the way and it turned positive! She said “oh yup! That’s your water! You’re having a baby today!” So I got admitted. I got connected to all sorts of antibiotics and fluids since I’m a c section momma and hadn’t had my GBS test done and I had been ruptured for about 2 hours at this point. There were several surprise deliveries before me so we ended up having to wait for about 4 hours, but i finally got wheeled back. They placed the spinal block, which was not near as bad as the first one!!! Did the pinch test, hung the drape, and made their first cut and then came my hubby who had been waiting in pre op! Lots of tugging and pressure, which kinda hurt, but I couldn’t feel anything sharp. One of the drs pressed on my upper stomach and one dr pulled baby out! Dad got to say “ITS A BOY!!” And t

he baby came out screaming! He was taken to the nicu to get his oxygen up and to watch his blood sugars, but by 6pm most of the wires were off!!

Welcome to the world, Bryce Coen! Mommy, Daddy, and Sissy love you!
