Should I reach out to his family?

My bf and I recently broke up. Our daughter has only seen his side of the family a handful of times since the day she was born. She's 13 months now. Even though me and my ex are not on good terms, I still want them (my daughter and her paternal relatives) to get to know each other, but I don't trust my ex will even attempt to bring her around them. Would it be wrong of me to reach out to them to try and coordinate a get together every now and then?
