Ok so this doesn’t have anything to do with anything baby, kids, parenting, etc. but I just wanted to take a moment and rant for a bit. Lol Has anyone ever wondered why exactly race exists? That question is always asked on virtually all applications and forms...”what is your race?” “Are you of Hispanic descent?” Why does it even matter? I mean, I understand it’s for affirmative action, equal opportunity, etc, but why do we even have to have those in place of we’re trying to treat everyone equally? I think everyone should be treated the same regardless of race or ethnicity. It’s ridiculous to me. I always feel awkward when I have to answer those questions on forms...I am Middle Eastern and I don’t look “white” yet I always have to answer “white.” And one lady has to ask me what my race is at a doctors office to check me in. What?! Also I fear for my sons when they get older...they’ll have to answer those same questions and they’re a hodgepodge of races and ethnicities. Korean, Irish, and Middle Eastern to be exact. How are they gonna feel? Confused? Left out? Will they now have to mark “other?” This is utter bullsh*t!

Sorry for the long rant but just wanted to get this off my chest. I hope I don’t offend anyone. I also hope that I’ve opened peoples eyes if they didn’t feel the same way. 🤷🏻‍♀️
