Eye contact/normal?

My son will be 6 months on the 24th and I feel like I have to fight with him for eye contact. He’s so busy taking in everything around him that he will only look at me for a few seconds at a time. I also think he’s getting bored with us because we are always trying to make him laugh 😂 just wondering if any other babies are giving less eye contact than before

When babies get overstimulated they turn their heads away. If you are often trying to make him laugh than it’s probably overstimulation. My in laws do this to my baby and they ignore his cues when starts looking the other way. If I don’t intervene he starts crying he is so overwhelmed by constant high stimulation interactions

My son is also turning 6 months on the 24th! Since birth, people have always commented on how "alert" he is because he's constantly looking around. But as a first time mom, I've always struggled with feeling that he should be more interested in our faces. These days he still prefers looking around, but will give us occasional looks. He'll also smile at us but we have to work hard for them!

I noticed this with my son recently but it mainly happens close to bedtime...so I think it’s just because he’s tired but Idk! The other night I kept saying his name and trying anything to get him to look at me but he wouldn’t!! During the day though when he’s happy and rested I feel like his eye contact is normal

Our little man definitely is soaking up the scenery. That being said, he will still track us. I bet it’s just a phase, a curious baby! 😊
