Any opinions on nexplanon?

I tried the depo shot years ago and was in bed sick for 3 months and the doctors ended up finding white stuff on my heart. I’ll forget to take the pills if I get it. My boyfriend doesn’t want getting the iud, due to bad history with an ex lover. So my last result is nexplanon and I am quite scared to try different birth control due to my experience with depo shot. I’ve only taken the pills since that depo shot .
