Dependent partner?

Ok so I’ll cook dinner and dish it out, my partner would sit down and I will put it in front of him with a drink of whatever and when he’s finished he will just sit there and wait for me to get up and take his plate to the kitchen, does anyone else’s partner do this? He won’t eat unless I make him something, he won’t drink unless I get him one. I feel like his mother not partner, I’m surprised he doesn’t ask me to wipe his ass  Lol

My husband normally cooks. Even if I start dinner he comes in and takes over. He takes care of me. I do the dishes and tidy up behind him.

My FIL is like that and it’s really bizarre to me. But they live in a very rural, traditional sort of place where the gender roles are very defined like that. My husband is the odd duck from his family in that he’s more like me and how I grew up - we definitely don’t behave like that in our home. He cooks, cleans, takes care of our daughter, picks up after himself, does his own laundry. 
If you don’t want him treating you like that, don’t set the precedent now. It will only continue.

Wow, okay. Sounds like he is quite dependant indeed. As long as you're okay with it, that's fine. Me and my partner are trying to split household tasks 50/50 with emphasis on 'trying' 😅

Mine cooks automatically and I’ll clean up to be fair. I’ll cook when he’s not home by dinner time or if he’s away for work etc but normally he’s the cook.
If he relied on me, he’d be starving haha

Then just stop doing it for him. The more you do it, the more he expects it. So put your foot down and tell him to pour his own drink and make his own plate. He’s not superior to you.

Guessing this was the roles in his childhood household? Does your MIL wait on your FIL? 
Our roles are a little reversed. My husband insists on cooking, but we serve ourselves and I clean the pans after

I do the same for my partner qe both work a 40 hour week i also study 15 hours a week do all the shopping cooking cleaning washing lunches etc
