Why do people test early?

Question

Honest question, it confuses me. Surely it just makes sense to wait until you’re late and test then? I’d have spent so much money on tests if I did it every month but then again I never did get my bfp until ivf. That said, each to their own and good luck to everyone on their TTC journey however long or short it might be.

I was ttc for 5 yrs and after a while the anxiety around it consumes you and you have to know. You see so many negatives along the ttc journey that sometimes i would just do it for some weird attempt at peice of mind. Kinda like "its negative again now i can move on with my day" instead of "am i? Am i? Am i?"
When i did finally get preg i found out at like 3w. The test was very faint but it was there. I had actually thrown it away thinking it was negative again and by stroke of luck, my cat(she loves tissue paper) knocked it out and i saw the line. Now im 23w and dont regret any of the process.

For a lot of women, myself included, it is a struggle to get pregnant. The stress and anxiety of tracking consumes you and you just want to get pregnant so bad so you start testing early to find out as soon as possible. I think some of it is this site and other sites as well. There are a lot of posts about women getting positives as early as 8 dpo and that gives you hope that it might be the case for you as well. So yes. It makes sense to wait until you're late.. But it's not that easy for some women.
