Abscess

Anyone else have mastitis that they can’t get rid of? I have been on two rounds of antibiotics and my OB seems to think it might be an abscess. Last week at my postpartum checkup he said he didn’t feel any abscesses. I called back today and he wants me to see a general surgeon and have an ultrasound. I have felt the breast after pumping and I don’t feel any knots. Prior to pumping, when my breasts get full, I have a lump and my breast is warm. However, I massage out the knot/pump and the breast feels flimsy and completely empty. I know we aren’t ever completely empty, but the place the knot was, there’s no lump? If I did have an abscess could it just be so small that I can’t feel it after I pump? The breast is also not painful until it gets decently full. OB also advised that I stop nursing her because that could be where the mastitis is coming from so when my husband is at work I only get to pump morning, noon, and all night. The other parts of the day, when no one is home to help me with her, I can’t get settled to pump. Just wondering if anyone else has any advice and what they ended up doing?
