Dreading getting induced?

Question

Is anyone else dreading getting induced?? I'm currently 41 weeks. Had a really painful sweep yesterday. Loads of pain all night but no contractions. Getting another on Sunday. Then if nothing happens I will be brought in on Friday at 42 weeks to have a caterther fitted and then let home till Sat. Has anyone been induced with this method? I'm in Belfast. TIA

I am going to be induced at 41+5 if I haven't had baby before then. I am trying for a VBAC and the balloon catheter is the procedure I will be having. Its apparently a gentler form of induction (after a previous c-section) with the balloon acting sort of like the baby's head against the cervix. I would come back the next morning and they would probably break my waters to get things moving faster as well. This is the plan anyway, I'm hoping baby will come on their on.

I don't want to be induced either! But I've never heard of this... why would they fit a catheter? You mean a urinary catheter? Will they do anything else?

In the same boat, 41 weeks today, except I'm being induced Monday night. I'm very distressed about it and trying everything to get her out before then! They are also planning the foley bulb (balloon catheter) for me.
