Is he really hungry?

My baby is 4 months old and he was sleeping anywhere from 5-8 hr stretches at night. The last few weeks hes been waking up every 1.5-2 hrs and the only thing that will get him to go back to sleep is nursing. I try to offer him the paci or rock him first but he just cries until I give him the boob. Can he really be hungry every 2 hours or should i try something else? He will literally scream until I let him nurse so I just let him. 🤷‍♀️ But I'm exhausted!! And I really don't want to let him cry it out.

This is where you have to make a personal decision as a mom. The 4 month sleep regression (a developmental leap, his sleep will likely calm down again in a few weeks and he will have made noticeable developmental growth) kicks a lot of moms asses. You are the only one who can decide how you manage it. Most people on here will tell you that he’s not hungry and to let him cry; but babies don’t just nurse for hunger, nursing for comfort and support through a difficult time (a huge developmental period) makes sense too. I know waking up every two hours is insane, trust me, I know lol but only you know if you’re comfortable letting your child cry through a hard time. I’m personally not but almost everyone I encounter on this app is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes he could be hungry. Yes it could be comfort feeding.
Does he fall asleep within a few minutes or is he actually taking the time to feed?

If ours is having a 4-5 wakings night, my husband can usually settle him back to sleep for 2 of those. I can't do it; he expects milk when I pick him up. 
But yeah, ours nurses for 2-3 mins then he's out again 🤦🏼‍♀️ so I also doubt it's hunger but I'm just gonna keep going and hope for the best.
