Croatia holiday anyone?

We are looking into booking our first family holiday abroad next summer, our baby will be 15 months old. We are looking at Croatia , flights are cheap, somewhere we’ve not been before either. I was just wondering if anyone here had been and if they could recommend a baby/toddler friendly hotel? Would it be better to go half board somewhere in a resort? We are not a pool all day kind of couple, would a car hire be useful? How easy is it to get about?

Any experience would be really appreciated... I feel like I’m in deep water just thinking about logistics and what would be convenient 😬
