Opiate male fertility effects

We JUST started trying to get pregnant. My husband is on long term dilaudid for multiple chronic pain diseases that he will have and be on for the rest of his life.

I’m wondering if anyone has had any fertility issues from their man being in pain meds? I know it’s supposed to lower sperm count, but I want to hear from actual people how it’s effected them, not the textbook answer. I’m a nurse so I got the book answer already lol.

Please let me know if you’ve been through this before!
