Should I tell my boss about my IVF?

I am getting ready to start IVF this cycle. I will have to talk to my boss regarding coming in late/taking time off for all the lab work and ultrasound appointments as well as for the retrieval. Should I be straight up and tell him what's going on? Or keep it vague and tell him it's for medical reasons and keep it at a need to know basis?

100% depends on your comfort level and trust in your boss. My boss is a huge gossip and my office schedule is flexible, so i didn’t tell her and it was fine, but my friend told her boss and got a lot of support and flexibility because of it.

I told my boss, i didn't specifically said IVF, but i told her that i am taking treatment to conceive and will be going for early morning appointments, she got it and she is very supportive.

Honestly, whatever you want to do. Most of the appointments will end up being really early in the morning so you might not even have to be late. I told my boss when I started and it felt like a weight off my shoulders. I did cry a lot in his office...

I would tell my boss, but we work closely together and have a good relationship. I would probably tell either way so it doesn’t seem like you’re just being flaky.

My boss knows but I knew she would be very supportive. My husband’s boss also knows (we work in the same place but different bosses) and is supportive but less so than mine. 
I think it depends first on your comfort level of anyone knowing (I don’t care) and on your comfort level with your boss (our relationship ship is pretty comfortable).
