Any other teachers?

I teach 5th and 6th grade and I am currently 18 weeks pregnant. Feeling like I am finally starting to get a real bump! I am not sure if I should keep trying to hide it from my students, or just let the bump out at school and see who comments / asks! I think it’s one thing to share the news with adult colleagues in the work place, but sharing with 12 year olds is a whole different level. We literally just had the “human growth and development” video last week, and they have already had WAY too many questions. 😳
Any other teachers? Are you telling your kiddos?

I’m 4th and 5th and 18 weeks. I told my students because they asked if I had kids and I responded with “not yet”. I love that they know and are so excited. They always ask me how big it is today and they’ve started tapping my belly after they high five me on their way out the door. It’s a great feeling to watch my students that I care so much about be so sweet and loving to this little baby 🥰

When I was in 5th grade my teacher was pregnant and I remember her telling us and the class was really happy and excited for her. I’m sure they will be thrilled to know :)

Also a teacher here, but I am 1st grade. Some of my students knew when I was 11-12 weeks. I overheard them discussing me “getting fatter” at snack time and some were saying it’s only because I had a baby in my tummy. They asked and I told them they were correct. I’m pretty honest with my kids. 
Would I have told them if they didn’t ask? Probably not🤷🏼‍♀️ but it is nice with them knowing because they are super understanding of the situation.

I’m a second grade teacher and I announced the first day of school and to parents at Back to School night so they didn’t feel blindsided by my maternity leave. I wanted parents and students to know about my plans for getting them a long term sub and my expectations for that sub in my absence. Everyone has been supportive especially my students and admin!

I teach 7th! 20 weeks yesterday. I just let them figure it out. One was eventually brave enough to ask around 18.5 weeks 🤣 I ’m not one to make big announcements about things, though.

Case manager at an alternative high school here.... I opted not to tell students until they started to ask/notice. Mostly it was fine, occasionally it led to an awkward conversation haha.

I’m a senior high teacher and I teach the same group of students for three years. A friend I team teach with is also pregnant (we are a week apart). We told our students because we knew they would be so so excited!

I’m a pre school teacher, so they don’t ask too many questions, it tends to come from their parents 😂 I’m so tired though being on my feet most of the day 🥵
