My baby just turned two weeks old, and my mother in law is acting a bit obsessive over her. She visits 2-3 times a week (Which is driving me crazy), messages me every single morning asking about her, and messages my husband asking about her also. She asks my husband to send pictures of her everyday, and when he forgets to, she gets upset and says “why didn’t you send me a picture”. She also requests for my husband to FaceTime her so she can see my daughter. She will text him all throughout the day, only talking about my baby, telling him how much she loves her, how much she misses her, and telling him to kiss the baby for her. When she comes over she tries to take control, constantly changing her diaper (even when it doesn’t need changed), and she will hold her for hours without giving her back to me. She also continuously shares posts on Facebook about the love between a grandmother and a granddaughter. Am I being crazy, or does she sound obsessed? I get it, she’s excited, but she doesn’t treat her grandson (who is five) like she does my daughter (my husband is the favorite child, and this is his first baby). My baby is a stranger to her! She’s known her for two weeks, calm down!!
