When is the best time to start with baby number two?

So for me it's been 7 months since my first baby was born. Everything is going really well with my mini-me and i can't help feeling I want another one asap!
I'm 31 years old now, and four friends of mine are actually pregnant already. But between their first and second pregnancy is  more than 1.5 years.. My and my hubby really want to get the diaper period over with as soon as possible. But I also want to give  my baby the attention he deserves. 
What do you guys think? When is the best time to start with a second? Or does it not really matter?

I don’t think it matters, whenever you feel ready! We started trying after 6 months with my first, they are 17 months apart & I wouldnt have it any other way! They are as close as kids can get & I love it! I turn 30 next year & may just have one more.. still debating lol but I think closer the better, but that’s me 😉

It’s best to wait at least 18 months between pregnancies to give your body a chance to fully heal and replenish nutrients. It gives your next baby the best chance at developing well also (: other than that just try when you feel ready!

You really should let your body heal. And I think it kind of takes time away to enjoy the first kid. But either wait it’s no one’s decision but yours and your husbands. So it when you two feel ready. We started trying after our son turned 2. It’s only been a few months.

I meant to vote doesn’t matter when. Me and my SO wanted to start after our little one turned 1 which was on July but we found out day before Mother’s Day that I’m pregnant with baby #2 and couldn’t be happier! They’ll be 18 months apart! I’m due in January! Start whenever you feel comfortable and whenever you want to!

We got pregnant again when our first was 9.5 months.  
Then second came early and they ended up being 17 months apart instead of 19+ haha 
Expecting our third now and our first is 3 and second is 21 months.

I always said when my first was potty-trained. Luckily, he took to it quickly, but we still wanted to give him a little extra time as an only child. He'll be a big brother a few months after turning 3. We may decide for another after both boys are school-aged.

According to the "experts" it's best to wait 18 months. That being said, in my opinion theres really no need to wait that long. The data supports waiting 6 months  but my doctor said theres no need to wait at all. But the difference between 6 months and 18 months is minimal. Basically the increased risk of things like preterm baby or low birth rate increase 1.5% per month cor every month you dont wait under 18 months but the risk is still really small.  So from a risk standpoint it's really up to you on how concerned you are about those things.

We started for number two 3 months after our son turned one. We just had our second boy two weeks ago so our boys are 2 years and 4 months apart. 
I love this age gap. It gave me time to spend with our first, but he's also now old enough but not too old to understand what is going on. He's been the greatest big brother and it just melts my heart to watch them together. This gap just works for us. I wanted my kids but not too close.
