Can you use Medicaid in another state?

My boyfriend is moving from another state to where I live and he has Medicaid until I can put him on mine which will be awhile. He is ￼ diabetic so of course a concern is getting in insulin. It takes about a month to get Medicaid here I’m not sure if it’s like that everywhere. Could he still use his Medicaid from other state here? I’ve heard you can and I’ve heard you can’t. ￼

When my daughter was on Medicaid we were on vacation, she ended up getting pink eye from the plane. We brought her to a dr and got her medicines no problem.  I'm not sure if it would be different since it's a known disease with him but I imagine he could still get his insulin

They can get Medicaid faster for emergency cases, like needing insulin

I wrote No, but thinking back I was once in a doctors office in NYC and someone was waiting to be seen and she explained that she had just moved from FL for school in NYC and had her FL health first card and they accepted her.
So I think it really depends which insurance he has, I would call them to explain the situation. That he may have to move and for the time being would he still be able to use his insurance in the new state.
