He got me a phone

My birthday was about 3 days ago, me and my partner have been together for 3 months. I’ve been struggling a bit financially and my partner is aware of this. Since I’ve met him I’ve had a broken phone because my ex destroyed it, it’s been hanging by a thread. But priorities first and I’ve been having to pay for bills and my daughter, about a week before my birthday my phone has been going crazy and the screen would work whenever it wanted to so I wouldn’t really talk to him because I couldn’t text all the time. Day of my birthday he surprises me with a phone and I refused to accept

Ladies I’ve always been independent and I’ve never had a partner spoil me or get me any gifts. My ex’s would just take me to dinner and that was it.

My partner surprised me with dinner, gifts of clothes and a phone.

I kept refusing and he looked sad? Said he was doing this because he wanted too.

We’re so fresh in this relationship I feel so guilty.
