Please read!! Blood work!

Em

Hey everyone! Please read if you know anything about cholestasis or liver enzyme stuff! Or if you work in the medical field.

So I’ve recently had a bit of blood work done. The first test ordered for me was a Complete Metabolic Panel. I had this testing done because I am having cholestasis symptoms. My doctor wanted to do this test to check my liver enzymes before doing a bile acids test. The three types of liver enzymes my doctor wanted to look at was ALP, AST, and ALT. Here are the normal ranges for that those three enzymes.

ALP: 33-115 U/L

AST: 10-30 U/L

ALT: 6-29 U/L

Here are my results from the first round of blood work!

ALP: 135 U/L (HIGH)

AST: 15 U/L (WITHIN NORMAL RANGE)

ALT: 6 U/L (WITHIN NORMAL RANGE)

After seeing that my ALP was high she said that prompts her to run a bile acids test and a repeat of the Complete Metabolic Panel. Here are my recults from the second round of blood work a week later.

ALP: 143 U/L (HIGH)

AST: 14 U/L (WITHIN NORMAL RANGE)

ALT: 5 U/L (ENTERING LOW RANGE)

BILE ACIDS: 10 umol/L

So now my ALP is higher than before, my ALT is entering the low range, and my bile acids is at a 10. I have another OB telling my current OB that she recommends induction even if I don’t have cholestasis because my liver enzymes keep increasing. And my regular OB is saying if I don’t have cholestasis and my liver enzymes are high it doesn’t matter so she won’t induce me. I know my liver enzymes are pretty high but is a bile acid level of 10 umol/L considered cholestasis or is it considered borderline or what 😂 PLEASE if you know anything about this comment!! I’m desperate and I’m 37w3d.
