I started the nuvaring 3 weeks ago and I’ve been having yellow discharge and it does have a slight strange odor. I also got tested for STD’s 3 weeks ago and all came back negative. We did find that I had bacterial vaginosis so I did a 7 day antibiotic treatment (can’t remember the name) but it was awful( nausea, headaches, all the side effects). My husband and I refrained from sex during that time. Then when we started having sex again it would be really hard for me to get in the mood and I haven’t enjoyed sex at all(side effects of the birth control). I had to take the ring out yesterday (for the one week that it’s out) and it looked kind gross, like the discharge that’s been building up for the past 3 weeks it’s been it 🤢.

I read all this could be side effects of the birth control and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this with the nuvaring?

Now that I’m thinking about it, something that’s been sitting in my vagina for 3 weeks shouldn’t be the most “sanitary” especially after having sex. Idk but the thought of it now is kinda grossing me out, even if I’m a clean person.
