Levels? Nurses?

Question

My 17 week old has this. Is this not concerning? He’s been having 101 fever on and off since Monday. The hospital said “his temp has to be 105 for 5 days or be having seizures before we will treat them” EXACT WORDS. 
Please help me what is this? Should I be worried?

I would be concerned and even go to a different doctor/hospital. From what I’m aware of it could be caused by dehydration or something as bad as kidney problems or digestive tract problems. I am no doctor or nurse I just did a quick google search. Hopefully someone else can comment who knows more. 
I would not trust a doctor who would wait until fever is at 105 for 5 days or seizures to treat. My doctor told me anything over 104 in kids is BAD. You shouldn’t have to wait until they have seizures until treatment!

Going by your update here’s what I would do. Write down what time you give medicine and the temperature at that exact time. Wait 30 mins, see if it goes down. If the fever goes down with medicine I would wait and try to keep it controlled. If his fever stays the same and especially if it increases drive two hours. Drive 6 hours. Drive however long it takes for your baby to get the help it deserves! This is what I would do and what I’ve been told to do! Do what your gut tells you!

Is your baby having any other symptoms? If he's just experiencing a fever make sure to not put a lot of layers (clothing) on him while in the house to prevent the fever from rising. Make sure you are keeping track of his temp and time of medication. Make sure your thermometer is accurately calibrated and fairly new. Sometimes you may have to choose a different medication to break fever and keep it from reoccurring. For example your using acetaminophen (Tylenol) you could try ibuprofen (Children's Motrin or Advil) depending on how long you have been using the Tylenol. Make sure to not give too much Tylenol as it can cause damage to the liver. If symptoms do not improve within 24 hours I would suggest going to the children's ER. Hope this helps.
