I got my refund check and I was going to save it for when u take classes for summer and my mom told me to give it to her cause it’s under her income. So the check is under my name shouldn’t it be my money to keep and save?

it's yours lol. she has no claim over it. it's up to you whether or not to give it to her. my bf gives his to his parents since they pay for his school expenses. i don't give my dad my fafsa money since i pay for my own school expenses

You qualified for financial aid based on her income and yours but the money you get is your for school. Unless it is a check from a loan she took out she has no claims to that money. You can use it for school tuition, books, living expenses, save it for next semester, or can put it towards any loans you may have already taken. If you still are not sure I suggest you contact your schools financial aid office and ask them.
