I am so tired of victim blaming masqueraded as concern/protection
TW incest down the line, but also triggering for rape in general. I am just upset and need to vent.

Rape can happen to anyone and everyone regardless of how many "rules" they do or don't follow. I am so tired of having to defend victims when it does not matter the choice they made. I don't care if they went home with a complete stranger, were drunk, didn't know where they were, were walking alone in a dangerous area, etc. the other person should not violate someone. End of discussion.
Consent is the key word. That's all that matters.
Yes we live in a world where we can and need to protect ourselves but if someone forgets or slips up then what? Also: why do I have to change where I ealk, how I have, how I have fun, simply because others cannot behave properly?
TW incest:
We do not say "that child should not have been alone with them" so why do we say "that adult should not have been drinking/wearing those clothes/been walkin alone/gone home with that person"
These rules and expectations cause people to question victims validity and blame them for not following those rules. By scrutinizing them and questioning their behavior you are blaming them.
