Should I get a ball???

Question

I’ve seen a lot of you bouncing and wondering if I should bite the bullet and get one. I’m doing a home birth so I’m wondering if it would help with labor/birth? How many of you have used the ball with labor and did you find it helped or brought relief?

I feel like you should get one especially since you’re having a home birth! I already had one from yoga but it’s helped sooo much with hip and back pain during my pregnancy to sit on that instead of a chair.

I like sitting on mine now when I’m really sore, it seems to help. And I really liked having it during labor with my first.

It’s good to have for the home birth. I had my daughter at home and planning my second home birth. I found it nice to sort of lean over the ball while laboring. I bounced a lot towards the end and no clue if it helped with the birth, but the birth did go well so I don’t think it hurt. It’s also nice for after baby’s here, bouncing on the ball while holding the baby is often a good way to soothe a fussy baby. 
That said, if you don’t get one, you’ll survive. In addition to the ball, I spent a lot of time leaning over an ottoman during my home birth.

It hasn't really helped me progress closer to labor but it has been helpful with staying comfortable.
