Force baby?

Do I have to force my baby to eat? He mostly just wants to breastfeed but when I actually try feeding him food he shut his lips or spits it out.. He's almost 11 months

Don’t force him to eat. He has to build up his own confidence and curiosity, and you want to associate eating with positive emotions.

My daughter did the same thing. Our doctor thought we would have to do food therapy but than one day she just started eating. I wouldn’t force it at all, I know what doctors say but I believe all babies eat when they are ready. Mine would never eat baby food we just gave her regular food. Just be patient and keep breastfeeding!!! Good luck!!

What are you trying to feed him?

Thank you! I also get hesitant to feed him solids because my mother says he's too young to chew them & it'd get stuck in his stomach or something. She repeats that I shouldn't feed him solids, even rice or beans, every time she or I visit.
