Is this cosleeper safe ?

I just got this for my son to sleep with me as i want to be safe than sorry but a friend told me it’s not safe if i can’t keep an eye on him . He’s only 2 weeks old . She said babies have died as they can suffocate which i understand . If it helps this thing is very adjustable and is super big

The only things that are safe for sleep according to the American association of pediatrics is a bassinet, crib or pack and play. And not sharing the bed with adults or other children. And babies should be placed flat on their back. 
Sleep positioners, co sleepers, loungers, wedges, swings, rock n plays, and anything added like pillows or blankets are not safe. 
Baby sleeping at an angle is not safe as it puts baby at risk for positional asphyxiation.

What I’ve come to understand is everything is unsafe unless it’s a flat firm surface blah blah blah blah. I say do what you think is aafe , if your following safe sleep rules . The baby isn’t going to be rolling yet so they won’t smush their face in the side . Your really just need to watch their next position that their chin isn’t down on their chest. A lot of people like to mom shame on here . I had to sleep with my LO on my chest for awhile cause that’s the only place she would sleep without screaming and a lot of people were like that’s not safe . It’s also not safe for me not to sleep and have the potential of falling asleep with her in my arms in chair . Sorry the long post / rant goodnlich with the do sleep bed

This is what I use. It’s just him and I in the king size bed and so far this has worked pretty well for us.

I suggest doing a newborn lounger(boppy). It doesn’t have anything that baby could suffocate on and it keeps them sitting at an angle so they can’t really roll over. My son loves his and sleeps in it every night.
