Positive birth experiences?

I am terrified of giving birth. I am 34 weeks pregnant. This is my first baby. It's like the internet knows, and all that has been coming across my feed is videos and articles of horrible birth stories. Plus my friends and family have told me all the negative stuff as well. Have any of you ladies had positive birth stories? If so, please share.

Hi there! I was in your shoes not long ago. Terrified and so very, very afraid. I read a book in my own language called pain-free birth. Not because I believed it would be pain-free, but I heard a lot of positive voices about it.
Overall it was all about changing your mind. Why are you afraid? Why are people feeding you negative stories? And perspective. People give birth all the time all over the world every single day and most actually want to do it again. So, it can't be all bad, right? 😊
So my advice is looking up to hypnobirthing or reading a bit on positive stories. It's good to keep in mind that stuff can go wrong, but hopefully you're gonna give birth a place where you feel safe they'll take care of you.
The pain? Yes, it's there. But as all other pain we experience in life, we get through it. And this kind of pain is something our bodies where meant to handle.
I remember not thinking pushing was that bad, but it hurted a lot in between pushing. There are several ways to get help to deal with the pain if it drags out. Or if you simply need it. I truly believe we all feel differently.
To end this I just wanna say I gave birth in March to my daughter. I had no epidural but did get laughing gas and oxygen. Try to keep calm, remember you might as well have a super duper easy and quick birth as well as a long one and the pain is manageable as long as you don't panic. Your body was made for this and people will help you et through it.
Please ask any questions you might have, I'll try and answer. But in general I want to tell you, there is no need to be terrified!

For some reason everyone always shares the negative but never the positive. My SIL just told me she already forgot how much it hurt / sucked and her LO is just a few months old. So I'm just keeping that mindset.

To me, my birth was amazingly positive. To others on the outside looking in, they might not see it that way. It’s all in how YOU feel and how YOU look at it. I had a support system in place by hiring a doula and that was amazing. Having her and my husband by my side was incomparable. Once it was time to push, I didn’t really need either of them near me but it was still comforting to know they were in the room and within an arms reach if need be. I was in tune with my body start to finish. I had previously said I wanted to make it as close to 8cm before getting an epidural (to prevent labor stalling) and when I asked for it, I had no clue how far along I was, just that it was TIME. I got checked right after getting it and sure enough, I was 9cm. My labor did stall a bit but I felt in control of my decisions the entire time, with the help of my doula, and was able to confidently tell my doctor (who wasn’t my actual OB, just the one on call- we had never previously met) yes or no regarding any and all interventions. I do wish I would have met this OB before. My doctors office gives you the option to see others during your pregnancy for this reason but I just saw my NP whenever I couldn’t see my OB for routine checkups. Anyway, I was literally cracking jokes from time to time, even while pushing. We did have a scary moment but I was confident I was in good hands and remained as positive as possible throughout. Don’t worry about all the “what if’s” and just focus on how exciting it will be when you can hold your little one in your arms. There’s seriously nothing better, no matter how you get there!

Even difficult labors end with a beautiful baby so that’s the positive part!  Once that baby is in your arms, not much that came before that matters 🥰

I had a great birth experience! It didn’t go exactly as planned but it was still really good! I had to be induced due to high blood pressure, but even though I was induced I still managed to give birth without any pain medicine which was something I wanted to do! They started my pitocin at 6:30 pm and my son was born at 9:57 pm. It was a whirlwind but such an exhilarating experience!

I mean, giving birth really sucks! It’s worth it, though—I thought I’d never do it again but now I’m 28 weeks w my second. :)
I think it helps to keep in perspective that it’s a relatively short period of time that you’ll go through, and then it’s over and you don’t have to do it ever again if you don’t want to. Your body is totally made to handle it, and you can do it!
