Anyone else going to be a FTM and worried about what life will be like if it doesn’t work out with your SO?

Moving out for the first time in my life with my boyfriend and having a baby all in the same year. My relationships up and down not sure if he’s my forever person but going to give it a fair try... a little worried how all of it’s going to go and the possibility of being a single mom if things don’t work out

I guess my question is, do you have a plan b in case it doesn't work out and a plan a for what the 2 of you can do differently to make it work (eg better communication or conflict resolution skills and a plan of how to do that). I wasn't pregnant yet when I moved in with my now husband, but we definitely had conflicts and I had times of being uncertain. But we worked at resolving our differences...not just vague "awww let's not fight, babe" but real discussions of what we need to do better.

Having a baby puts a lot of strain on a relationship, my husband and I were married for 4 years once we had our baby & it’s been hard. My best advice would be to talk about aspects of raising a child now so you both can get on the same page. Discuss things like birth plan, Breastfeeding or formula, where baby will sleep, when to introduce solids & daycare or stay at home plan. The more you can plan now the better you can handle having a newborn later.

Definitely because I made the choice to have a child with someone whom I’m not officially committed to (married) although we talk about it all the time. But If we don’t work I’m more than sure I’ll be okay doing it on my own because I’ve mentally prepared myself so much just in case we don’t end up working out. I want to coparent in a mature way and effectively communicate. It will be scary being a single mom but I think just knowing myself I will dominate it. I really would love the family dynamic and raising my child in a two parent home since both of us come from a two parent home. I think we will make it work since our goals align but I do have these similar thoughts just in case we don’t.

My baby is the ONLY new life I’m worried about if my baby come and things get bad with my relationship it was meant to go bad and that’s okay cause then I don’t have to share my baby it’ll be just me and my bundle of joy 🥰you should feel the same ! Your child is what matters nothing or no one else !!
