Autism help, please?

Question

I just heard from a friend how people with autism have a much higher chance of dying at a much younger age. I didn't believe her so I researched a bit and from what I've read, she's right. The only thing is, my boyfriend is on the spectrum. VERY low on the spectrum but he is there and I'm very worried. What does this mean? Does this mean he'll probably die in his 40's or 50's and not be able to make it any further? I know I might sound like an idiot or ignoarant but I'm not I'm just scared please help

Don’t be scared. I don’t know if that statistic is true or not, but I know plenty of people with autism living long and fulfilling lives. So focus on having a good life with him rather than if he dies young. Any of us could die at any moment regardless of if we have autism or not.

Its usually because if other associated health issues. Like, people with autism are more likely to also have epilepsy and that is a factor for early death. 
And people who have more severe symptoms may walk out into traffic, drown, or accidentally ingest something or self harm. So if he isnt likely to do any of these things I'd say he'll probably live a long life. My brother has Aspergers and I have no concern that he'll die early

Usually that has to do with the fact that they have other issues along with autism not just autism. I wouldn’t worry about it because science and medicine has come such a long way and is constantly advancing.
